Exit Light - My first movie

Postby nuNce » Fri Aug 25, 2006 3:55 am

I've always wanted to make a movie for dystopia. I never could though, cause my pc didn't allow me to make smooth demos. Now I changed pc, the idea came again back in my head. I've recorded demos for a few days, and when I had enough material, I've started working on the movie. It took me some days, but now I've got it ready. I like to call it a "Tribute" movie, as the frags aren't really fantastic (well, some are cool, but just few), consider it a gameplay footage. I hope you enjoy it. Take a look at the ReadMe file for a little more infos. Leave a comment too. :)

Nice movie, some fun kills. Like you said, nothing really spectacular, but I did love the grenade kills... don't know why but just love a well cooked nade kill.

Very impressive!

Though I swear a couple of the guys you shot were utterly useless...
Rain-slick streets with a sodium flare
Street lights shining with a midnight glare
It's an urban night!
Striding through the rain in the worst part of town
My head held high and my eyes cast down
It's an urban night!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm happy it's positive.

Yeah, I agree, not much movement from foes, looks like a lot of new players are discovering Dystopia right now.

Well, if it's not gonna be Metallica is gonna be Iron Maiden ;)

great movie, but I must ask... tribute movie? aren't tributes usually made to someone who's dead or at the end of their career? Why not call it a promo movie?

Google says not!

-Something given or done as an expression of esteem
-Something done or created to show thanks or respect

I wasn't talking about the definition, I was talking about the general usage... "tributes" are usually made to 80's rock bands or distinguished old actors. Or greek gods. Someone sees "a tribute to dystopia" they think that dystopia must be old and dying... or at least I usually assume that when I see tributes to things.

nice vid, thought some of the stuff was from our matches

although you did only show u killing others, and not getting utterly pwned, but still, that's the way of game videos ;)
