In the latest Steam update Valve have changed the way the lighting engine works, along with a few other things. This is causing some major issues in Dystopia.

We're seeing a new error when people are attempting to run Dystopia:

Game shader 'game_shader_generic_sample.dll' trying to override a base shader 'bloom'.

You can work around this problem by browsing down to your \SrouceMods\dystopia\bin folder and taking the .dll extension off the file game_shader_generic_sample.dll - however, there are still major issues with Dystopia and it's not stable.

Looking at one of the VGUI screens will crash you to the desktop. Valve's new HDR code is clashing with our bloom code. Changes to the custom shaders have broken graphical effects like thermal vision and EMP grenade effect.

UPDATE:

We have just had word from Valve that they don't have a firm ETA for the SDK update, their best guess at this stage is "a week or two".

What this means to us: We will be attempting to create an update to work around the current issues.

We want to get Dystopia working again a lot quicker than a week or two. We have a list of known issues and Teddy is currently busting hump attempting to find solutions. As soon as we have a build which fixes the VGUI crashes, the bloom conflicts and fixes for the thermal vision shader, we'll push it out to the public.

Then when Valve finally release the updated SDK we'll create a "proper" update.

I'll finish by saying that PHWComics have pretty much summed up how it feels:
