Team Dystopia are extremely serious about squishing any bugs as fast as we can track them down. As proof, we offer up the first update for the demo. This update is completely backwards compatible, so there is no reason for players or server admins to delay grabbing it.

You can snag the 3 meg client update:

dystopia_demo_client_u1.exe from Internode
dystopia_demo_client_u1.exe from HL2Files.com
dystopia_demo_client_u1.exe from austopia.org

Server admins running either Windows or Linux, can grab the updated binaries in this 6.5 meg zip:

dystopia_demo_server_u1.zip from Internode
dystopia_demo_server_u1.zip from HL2Files.com
dystopia_demo_server_u1.zip from austopia.org

Also, I'm setting up a mailing list for server admins. In future we'll use this to keep admins informed of updates and any other helpful info. If you're running a Dystopia dedicated server, please email me at fuzzy@dystopia-game.com (with something along the lines of ADMIN LIST in the subject) and I'll add you to the list.

Change log:
-Fixed several crash bugs in server and in client
-Bumping into a stationary team mate will push them a bit (this is to prevent people blocking spawn doors as heavies)
-Added voicecomms spam protection
-Added support for mp_autoteambalance (on by default)
-Added dys_voicecomm_globals_silent convar, so you can disable the audio on global voice comms (eg. "I don't think so sister!")
-Added dys_iff convar, to disable IFF drawing (eg. models only)
-Added server name to HTML/XML stats output
-Fixed names with a "." being shortened in stats
-Fixed spawn timer increase if spawn is captured
-Fixed stealth appearing white on older video cards
-Fixed stealth vmt exploit
-Lowered Spider Grenade timer from 7 to 4 seconds

I'd also like to take this opportunity to pimp an awesome wallpaper created by a Dystopia fan, Uranium - 235:

Also, this Thursday, 22nd of September at 6:00pm I'll be doing a 30 minute presentation talking about my experience working on the Dystopia project. The presentation is part of SEQGRAPH "YAK". It will also include a presentation by Ross Brown, discussing where computer games are heading with respect to supporting technology and its research. Then Mike Jones will speak on a minority report style virtual reality interface.
