Energy Consumption Increases maximum by 25 units
Availability Light, Medium, and Heavy

The SCS implant increases the maximum energy capacity of the user by 25. This allows other implants to be used more often or for longer periods. The SCS can be used in a variety of loadouts but it most common to deckers and others with high energy implants like the TAC Scan, Stealth and Mediplant.

Usage Guidelines

  • This implant is passive - it is always on and consumes no energy.
  • It can give Lights and Mediums the edge in Cyberspace, especially when battling enemy deckers.
  • Heavies cannot use the SCS if the Leg Boosters are chosen.

Tips and Tricks

  • A 50% increase in maximum energy is a big boost, especially when using a high-drain implant or several implants simultaneously.
  • Although it increases your maximum energy, it won't increase your energy regeneration so it will take you longer to reach full energy (but the same amount of time to reach the maximum energy of a non-SCS user).
  • This implant is highly recommended should you be taking highly draining implants like Mediplant, TAC Scan or Stealth, if there is room in the loadout.
  • SCS is very useful for Lights as they rely on their implants to stay alive more than the other classes.
  • SCS is also very useful for Mediums as it better enables them to heal themselves and teammates using a Mediplant, or to sprint for longer with Leg Boosters.
  • Less useful for Heavies, since the other implants they can take in combination with SCS are not especially draining. It can allow Thermal Vision to be left on for a longer period, but if the user is toggling thermals (like they should be) it's not a major bonus. Wired Reflexes or Sound Suppressor are probably more useful.
  • Extremely important for deckers on cyberspace-only objectives since energy is their lifeblood in cyberspace. If you want to be a full-time decker, you need this implant to be competitive as the other deckers will be using it too.
  • If attempting to backhack this implant can be very useful, as it will reduce the time you may need to wait to regenerate enough energy to hack the objective (assuming you don't use all your energy reaching the JIP).
