The Dystopia Competition

From Dystopia Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

In order to get the creative people of the Dystopia community going and give them some incentive to pour crazy amounts of time into the game, Team Dystopia initiated the Dystopia Competition. The competition originally called for all sorts of media, including intro videos, promotional content, video walkthroughs of the game, and custom models. Regrettably, though, they were forced to narrow the competition to third party maps due to lack of participation in other areas. You can see a list of competing maps and voting results below.

Team Dystopia has packaged a selection of the top third party maps, which includes the top winners from this competition. This package can be downloaded in a regularly updated, easy-to-use installer on the Dystopia Website's third party map page.

Competing Maps

dys_bloodsport

Made by Radz, BloodSport features endless amounts of close-quarters fighting inside a futuristic adaption of the ancient gladiator arena.

dys_cybernetic

Note: Cybernetic was released as an official map with version 1.2

Made by Venciera, Cybernetic centers around a battle for the daughter of a slum overlord. The punks must infiltrate the giant UCT arcology and teleport the prisoner after freeing her from storage.

dys_desert

Made by Remonttimies, Desert is aptly named for a battle over a once secret corporate research facility in the middle of nature's warmest climate.

dys_parallax

Made by Cyanyde, Parallax starts off in a city setting, requiring punks to break into a corps base. Once inside, the action moves through the base to the explosive climax in the final area.

dys_tower

Made by Dark Falcon, Tower consists of a shoot-out for the future of the iNPath fiber-optic central control building.

dys_racetrack

Made by Thorbinator, RaceTrack is a vehicle fun map with four major sections. You can race on a track, play brute ball, use rocket brutes for king-of-the-hill, and do tricks on the stunt portion.
